Allow it to download and install and then restart SWBF. Next go back and try to download the Jakku DLC. If you are then you'll need to speak with a game advisor who can audit the code and correct the situation. You can reach a game advisor here: click on the orange button on the right to start a new case, follow the instructions and when you are presented with a contact method I recommend that you use the telephone option and the “call me” option so you don't have to stay on hold for a long time. Play the Battle of Jakku December 8. The Battle of Jakku DLC lets you play the new Star Wars Battlefront game mode, Turning Point, and two new multiplayer maps on the planet Jakku, Graveyard of Giants and Goazan Badlands, each tied to multiple game modes. The Battle of Jakku is available to all Star Wars Battlefront players.
One of the criticisms of the maps that shipped with Star Wars Battlefront was that they looked great cosmetically but often weren't that interesting in terms of gameplay. Many of Battlefront' s core maps amount to fairly flat wide-open spaces, interior corridors, or some combination of the two. None of the maps are blatantly bad, but once you play on Jakku you realize what they are missing. The Battle of Jakku unfolds over dramatic rolling dunes covered in mechanical wreckage and improvised barricades. The dunes allow for some of the most interesting site lines and long-range combat opportunities we've seen in the game so far, as you'll often have the chance to engage enemies from a long way off as both of you crest hills. At the same time, standing on top of a dune can make you a tempting target for enemies all over the map, including the AT-STs or the Rebel ships flying overhead.Things get even better as the fighting spills into the tangled wreckage towards the center of the map.

Crashed ships become compact arenas for frantic blaster fire, melee swings, and exploding grenades. Metal beams braced against makeshift walls become perches for snipers.
Advancing Rebel forces slip through holes in the wreckage while dodging Imperial guns. All in all, Jakku just works to create more natural drama than most of Battlefront's previous maps, and we'll hopefully see more of this kind of design in future DLC. Dramatic finishesTurning Point is a variation on Battlefront's Supremacy game mode, with the twist that the Rebels are moving forward and attempting to claim control points while time ticks down, and the Imperials are tasked with defending these points at all costs. Once a control point is claimed by the Rebels the Imperials can never get it back, but as the Imperial forces fall back they reach ever-more-defensible points to control. The final control point is surrounded by walls of wreckage and obstacles which give a natural advantage to the defending forces. Even if the Rebels have flown through the previous control points this last one tends to be a difficult nut to crack, and about 75% of the games I've played in this mode so far have come down to tense, dramatic finishes at the final control point. It's still too early in Battlefront's multiplayer life to be sure how significant the advantages for different sides are in asymmetrical modes like Walker Assault, but Turning Point felt much more balanced right from the start.

The fact that the position of the defenders becomes stronger as the game goes on is a great touch, and lends a natural sense of tension to the progression of a match. Center stage for the AT-ST WalkerThe only vehicles in the new Turning Point mode are Rebel Airspeeders and Imperial AT-ST Walkers. Since air vehicles in Battlefront are an uneven experience best left to the professionals, the Airspeeders have much less of an impact on a typical Turning Point match than the Walkers do. The Walkers are defensive juggernauts, and the Imperial side will almost always have at least one of them active.Early in a Turning Point match the Imperials will have to defend multiple points at once, and a single Walker is often enough to defend a point against a half dozen Rebels.
In a manner reminiscent of Titanfall (hey, remember Titanfall?!) combat tends to warp and flow around the Walkers. When you spawn as a Rebel on a far-off dune you can often spot a Walker right away, and it's up to you to decide if you want to try to confront it and take it down or if you want to make a run for one of the less-well-defended control points. In Battlefront's other modes AT-ST Walkers are rare sights, but they get some well-deserved love in Turning Point, and help to make the new mode one of the best the game has to offer. With the Battle of Jakku DLC Star Wars Battlefront takes a significant step in the right direction and becomes a better game overall. The fact that the DLC is free means everyone will be playing it soon, and those who have waited to purchase Battlefront because of lukewarm early reviews will have a stronger game waiting for them if they pick up the game after December 8.
