Go to Bass Pro and purchase the ready made bobber rig that has the bobber, leader with circle hook and a one oz. Egg sinker-buy a couple or more. Hook your eel either under the chin and out thru one eye or about four inches from the end of the tail.

When hooking at the tail, place the hook only about 1/8 of an inch down into the eel's back-this allows the hook to pull free and set itself into the striper's jaw. I prefer the tail hook method as this prevents the eel from curling up around your line. Set the bobber to the depth that you want to fish-from 10 to 20 ft.

To do that put a 3 way with a 8 inch drop for your weight and a 36 inch drop and put a 9 O circle hook with your eel hooked from the bottom of the jaw and out the eye. Use just enough weight to hold the bottom or keep whatever depth the fish are at. I just started adding another drop from the hook eyelet that has 5 inches of line and another hook and you hook it through the top of the eel about 4 inches down the back of the eel.
